Darkness.
Sheer, cold, darkness.
No sound was heard. No voice echoed. Everything felt cold as ice. Not a single wind brushed one’s skin. Not a single peep caressed one’s ear.
Darkness was all that could be seen. And while light might be the source of all that is good, darkness is eternal, for darkness is a cold truth that all must face upon death.
‘…Wh…ite…’
But for some good fortune of the people, darkness holds a longer expiration date, allowing them to obtain the light they hungrily want before their time runs out.
Sun brightened lively as it stood proudly above the blue skies. Pokémon chirped and squeaked in joy as they ran around the city and nearby forests. Humans laughed and talked peacefully with one another. The event of last night didn’t stop them from pursuing their everyday lives. Some were still cleaning up their stalls. A few children and baby Pokémon were seen playing around with the festival’s games that still lingered around.
A girl came out of the Icirrus gym. A full, wide smile painted her rosy, sunny face. “Well that was fun,” she commented to herself, right hand holding the city’s badge as proof of their victor. Chuckling once, White pinned the badge under her vest, smile growing wider to see the row of trinkets that resembled her one step closer to victory.
“White!”
Like their previous encounters, before she had any time to turn or think, White felt her neck being wrapped around by a pair of arms. “Ack- Air…!”
The festival was about to end. People were seen closing their stalls. Pokémon were seen going home either alone or with companions. As darkness loomed from below, stars acted as lights, guiding the living with their breath-taking twinkle.
“I think you look kinda cute.” White complimented as they looked at the photo. Right after their surprising victory, a picture was taken – much to her silent dismay. She literally had to hold her breath so she wouldn’t scream in embarrassment.
Oh Arceus oh Arceus oh Arceus oh Arceus oh Arceus oh Arceus oh Arceus oh frickin’ damn Arceus!
Those were the only words that occupied White’s frantic mind. Her hands ruffled her hair for the eleventh time, threatening to mess up her do that Bianca combed oh so nicely. Right after she realized what her Pokémon had done, White felt like she had been punched in the uterus. Never would she think that her Pokémon would betray her like this. They were better than this. They should know better.
But nope. It turned out her Pokémon were just as slick and sly as oil on ice.
1. Give homemade chocolates.
“Here you go, milady!” N happily presented to White his homemade chocolate; shaped into a heart and size bigger than his palms combined. The delicious gift obviously surprised White. She gawked at the tall boy, wide eyes blinking at the thought that he had actually made something without burning the whole house down.
“Why…thank you, N.” Finally, she replied with such surprise bashfulness. With her teeth lightly biting her lower lip, White happily stretched her hands to reach her succulent treat.
Sadly, as N let go of the chocolate, it slipped through White’s hands.
And, instead of it creating a pool of mushy splatter on the floor, it crashed like a boulder and created a gaping hole.
The food finally landed inside the basement with a loud bang. Both teens were stunned to the bone. White especially, was bewildered beyond words. She couldn’t blink, neither could she peep a squeak. Her eyes were glued to the big hole between their feet, obviously stunned that a pastry could even bring such destruction.
Silence was all that echoed around them. Until finally, a loud – almost too cheerful – bark boomed from the basement. ‘Oh look Lillil! I found a big chocolate fossil!’
When I look into your eyes,

Or a beautiful sunrise,
Well, there’s so much they hold.
And so the night marked the memories of the certain two. For the first time in his life, N was presented with nothing but awe and amazement. Foods that he ate, games that he played; all opened his eyes like open doors, making him see the joys and wonders of the outside world.
And for a girl named White, all she could do was smile and laugh at the pleasant shock his true self gave her.
1. Sequel
“Gosh you’re tall.” Mei tiptoed in front of Hyu, poorly trying her very best to beat his height. The boy merely stood in amusement, rolling his eyes at her failed attempt. Scoffing to see the joy on his face, Mei gave a little hop. “I’m gonna be taller, you’ll see!”
“I can’t wait to see that amazing achievement.” Hyu laughed louder as he saw the adorable pout on her lips.
The air around them seemed to intensify. The sounds around them seemed to mute off completely. Only heartbeats were heard; one that boomed stronger than the other. White could feel the heat rushing to her cheeks. What is he doing here?! Her mind screamed as loud as sirens. Of all times, of all places, why is he here?!
N, on the other hand, stayed glued in his position. For the first time, his mind went blank. His mouth felt dry. There, standing before his very emerald eyes, was the girl that invaded his analytical thoughts and stirred his sturdy doubts. What’s more, she was sporting anything but the usual. Never had N seen her wear such a thing. She was still White; that N couldn’t deny. But the White tonight seemed…elegant in his eyes.
White stood proudly before the Icirrus Gym. Her hands held her waist as she looked at the cave-like building. “This gym is uses ice Pokémon,” she smirked happily, head turned to look at her Samurott. “Think you can handle a little brain freeze, Isaac?”
‘You bet!’ Isaac roared triumphantly, forelegs stomping in anticipation. His eagerness was fuel to his trainer. Fisting into her right palm, White raised her arms and cheered, “Let’s get us that badge!”
With both screaming with such tenacity, they ran into the gym.
“Well, that was easy as pie. Don’t you think, Dex?” White stretched her arms as she walked out of the gym. Dexter happily trotted by her side, neighing in pride at his splendid victory. Though her back still ached from the numerous blasts of cannons she had to endure, the glistening Mistralton badge pinned inside her vest made her forget all the soreness. Radiating a proud smile, White patted Dexter’s head, earning her a loving whine.
“Congratulations.”
Heartbeats raced. Time ticked. All were set in stone. One dashed at the speed of light. One screamed in utmost terror. One had his feet glued to the ground, making no sudden movements as the sharp tip zoomed in his vision.
Ba-dump…

‘STOP!’
1. Conflicting
“Give me back my Pokémon, you meanie!” Leaf shouted angrily, arms rose in the air and feet hopping little hops. Unfortunately, Green was proven taller than her as he stretched his arm upwards, fingers tightly clutching her Pokéball.
“Once a shorty, always a shorty, huh?” Green ignorantly spat, lips posing a naughty smirk. The young woman in front of him only cast a sharp glare. Her cheeks were puffed. Her lips were pouted and frowned.
And honestly, that only made Green even happier.
“Shorty!” The young leader happily laughed. Before Leaf could even punch his chest – even though it would just be tickles for him – Green wrapped his free arm around her waist and pulled her closer. “You’re cute when being bullied by me.” Grinning like a fool, Green softly pecked her nose, thus stunning Leaf shut.
Leaf, now engulfed with bashfulness instead of anger, could only freeze with cheeks as hot as the sun. “W-why you… Meanie!”
1. Green – Prince of Doom
He’s dying.
Green saw as Red crashed to the ground in defeat. The boy’s body was tainted with scars. Blood inked his every flesh. He watched as the manic black beast plunged for his best friend. A sword was raised by the creature’s sharp claw, tip perfectly aiming at Red’s slowly beating chest.
But, instead of screaming in horror, Green merely flashed a sly grin.
Taking one sharp breath, he snapped his iris-less eyes open.

The creature was dying.
Green saw as a certain red-eyed boy floated above the fallen beast, red eyes staring coldly at it. Red’s body was free from neither scratch nor harm. No blood tainted his clothes. No scars marked his skin. The Time player was healthy and clean as whistle; just as Green wanted.
The Prince flashed a wide smile. Yes. Finally Green held an important role that people could respect and see. But most of all, he was happy because instead of fighting against his best friend, he was able to fight alongside him.
1. Rain
“Aww, it’s raining!” Kotone sulked out loud as she gazed out the window. Although it was still 12 in the afternoon, the sky had already taken its dark and grim tone. A pout forming her pink lips, the brunette landed her bum on the sofa and crossed her arms like a child.
Suddenly, she felt a pair of strong arms lifting her petite body. In less than a second, Kotone was placed on something – someone – rather than the comfort of her own couch.
